A whisper from black bolt can level a city, cause distance volcanoes to become active one more, shake entire continents apart and generate tremors on the far side of the planet. It can rip planet into half and destroy an entire solar system.


Black Bolt is the ruler of the Inhumans, a reclusive race of genetically altered superhumans. Black Bolt's signature power is his voice, as his electron-harnessing ability is linked to the speech center of his brain. Speaking triggers a massive disturbance in the form of a highly destructive shockwave capable of leveling a city. Due to the extreme danger posed by this power, the character has undergone rigorous mental training to prevent himself from uttering a sound, even in his sleep, and he usually remains completely silent and speaks through sign language or via a spokesperson.

  5. . In World War Hulk, Black Bolt whispered to Hulk, breaking bones in his body and making him angrier. Hulk replied, “I didn’t come here for a whisper, I want to hear you scream!”
  6. . In the comics, it’s said that Black Bolt is almost as strong as the Hulk. He is an extremely close second in strength
  7. . He wears a metallic, fork-shaped antenna upon his brow that allows him to focus and channel his powers in more directed and less destructive ways.
